Please understand that it has become exceedingly difficult for individual, small practices like Kirsch Dermatology to operate, and you may have already noticed that there are fewer and fewer small medical practices in business. This is because over the past several years the expense of running a small practice has increased exponentially, while the reimbursements have stayed the same or decreased.
On average, between 5% and 10% of our scheduled patients do not attend their appointments without providing advanced notice to us. It is not possible for us to maintain our high level of service while simultaneously incurring this expense. In addition, when patients do not attend scheduled appointments, other patients lose the opportunity to be seen. Our no-show policy is necessary to ensure the ongoing viability of our office.
